Just add worms...

Another exciting and productive day. We didn't finish our worm farm, but we made some good progress. It's in Dad's garage painted and ready to assemble.

Lainey and I went out to Jesus and Dee's property to see the red angus that Dad and Mom bought a few weekends ago. Dee is keeping the cows for them. We got to feed a cow named Emma. Lainey wasn't really that impressed and the cow was a pretty apprehensive about such a little person being in her field.

Our chickens are doing great and after showing them that they are supposed to perch in their coop at night, they seem to get the idea.

This is Emma

Lainey had snack time while Mommy and Daddy built a warm factory

My dad's geese literally follow him around.

How he rolls...

This is Giblet and Pâté

If you look closely you can see the geese supervising.

We painted our box the same barn red from our chicken coop.

Silkie

So, we have very little progress to show as far as the patio goes thanks to the very soggy soggy corner. Where the patio was supposed to be finished yesterday, pavers will not even begin to be laid until Monday. Boo. The installer screwed up and ordered a bigger fire pit than we wanted. This seems like a good thing, but I argued that it makes my patio just that much smaller, so he's making our patio bigger to compensate. Yay.

The orange spots are my tentative lights.

Behold our new chicken coop. The product of our 6 hour road trip! We drove all the way to Citra for this baby because it was that great of a deal.

While we were up there, Mom remembered reading about a swap meet that local farmers were holding at the Tractor Supply. I have an order of chicks coming in on Monday, so I wasn't really looking for more birds, but I did want an impractical showy bird because all my chicks are laying hens. When my aunt called, begging me to get silkies so that she could have silkie chicks, we had to comply. :) They are so friendly and sweet. Blue is also quite prolific.

Argh!

Back yard progress...
Our all weekend project from which Justin and I are still excruciatingly sore.

The leaves on the tree are turning brown already despite our continuous watering. Da said though that the leaves could fall off before the tree stabilizes.

As promised...
International Talk Like a Pirate Day party pictures...
Lainey immediately "borrowed one of Avery's babies.

This is Avery's family album, but Alaina kept trying to convince Avery that her "pop" was Justin. This disagreement lasted for several minutes.

Our graceful little one practicing how to sneak out windows...

My goodness she is BEAUTIFUL!

Treasure hunting (after mistakenly eating the "sand.")

They were both fascinated with watching the baby eat. He however was fascinated by them watching him.

Avery's mommy, Alison is so superiorly creative. She made pirate bananas and apple ships. Amazing!

Apparently they were tasty too.

More of Alison's creativity. We made parrots! I don't have a picture of Lainey's finished product because she had a wee melt down in the middle of the project.

Story time! They were all so engrossed in the pirate story.

And now, Lainey presents... What To Do When You Meet a Cute Boy (A Tutorial)
Show that you have similar interests

Show him that you're intelligent

Laugh at his jokes

Be affectionate.
The END.

Fun days

Yesterday we met up with Abigail and her Mommy, Ashley at the mall.
She gets such a kick out of the play area in the mall.

She thinks she's such a big girl.

Lainey helping Abigail decide which dress she should buy.

So she can suck on a straw when it's not in a glass...

Today Lainey and Justin accompanied me to my Doctor's appointment. My nodule and cyst returned a negative result. Then on to the fun stuff. We went to lunch with Daddy.  Later we met up with Coleton and Abigail for a swim date. Lots of swimming lately, and more to follow on Thursday with the cousins swim day; we are going to BoDi's house with Cole, Glenn, and Ethan for more pool time. She has gotten so good at swimming. I can let her go, and she treads right back up to the surface. The only danger is that she loves it so much that she takes on water because she's laughing so much! Today she tried climbing out of the pool and actually succeeded climbing into a chaise lounge.

...but having difficulty deciding on a margarita flavor.

So hungry she was eating her shirt.

Such a swimmer!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Early early early this morning, we went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast with my family for Mothers Day. We went to the beach afterwards and had a really nice walk. Lainey shared her toys and her wagon with Glenn. She got a new hot pink sippy cup yesterday (we left her last one at El Chico's) and she is completely obsessed with it; even empty she won't let anyone else near it. After a long nap, we went back out and found an awesome new playground with lots of slides to climb up, tunnels to crawl through, and swings to "weeeeeeee" on.

Getting ready to go shopping. :)

Cole is not a morning person.

But Glenn is!

A random little girl at breakfast won this for her out of a claw machine.
