Tuesday's playdate

Lainey is wiped out after our fun day. There was lots of bird watching, making disasters in the play room and even an outdoors lunch! We met up with Jess and Eliza for some shopping and some play at the mall. With no other kids there it was the perfect time for Lainey to show Eliza around the play station. Eliza gave Lainey some tips for free standing and even taking a few mommy free steps. Lainey seems intrigued, but at the moment is content to hang on my leg. Afterwards, we headed over to hang out with Kalli and Coleton for our playdate. It's so great to see the babies actually interacting now. When we started meeting, they were all too wary of each other to venture very far from their moms.

Yesterday:

Our very first home grown strawberry. I put it in Justin's oatmeal this morning.

Lainey can now unzip...

...She is very nosy and uses her knowledge for evil.
Today:

A bad day for Daddy's shirt is a good day for Lainey's wardrobe. I reused one of his old undershirts to make this little sun dress and matching panties.

Nothing But Blue Skies

I am admittedly not very good at keeping our blog up to date, but I make up for it in todays update with PICTURES!!!

We had a full week with lots of fun. Cole came up for a visit and we went to this really great park. Lainey and I went up to Orlando for Henriette’s dress fitting! Her dress is absolutely breathtaking. It’s just so perfect for her... and guess what... I get to keep it for her. That’s right, we’re hiding it from Dylan and her Dad in our office closet! When we came home, we gathered up Daddy and his iPhone and went shopping at Hammock Landing (I accidentally deleted that picture, which warranted plenty of swearing and me promising to do all kinds of mean things to my phone.) Today after a really nice breakfast, we headed to Ross and bought picture frames for Justin and Grant to hang their certificates in their office. We spent the rest of the day at the Sebastian Inlet. It was a beautiful sunny day with lots of “firsts” for Lainey. We had our lunch next to a group of begging pelicans. One pelican had a lure around it’s neck; after we told the ranger, we watched a rescue attempt. Eventually they decided to wait for help to save the bird.

Tea Party

We're big into pointing at the moment... this is her pointing at the empty table and yelling, "Mom, I need MORE GRAPES!"

We are also big on crawling out of seat belts. Yesterday she climber out of her highchair and into my lap at lunch.

A tortoise laying her eggs!

Crazy happy!!! <3

The hotel we stayed in last weekend gave her a rubber ducky... he is her new best friend.

Happy Valentine's Day!

The cashier at Publix scoffed at our "romantic" dinner of chicken tenders with mac n' cheese, but hey, I didn't have to cook.

Lainey and I spent the day getting back into the swing of things after having been gone for all of this past weekend. No small task considering as the house was a wreck from unpacking and Lainey and I were exhausted from no sleep. She did her part though and napped a lot. Kristi, Noah, and Mikayla stopped by with valentine cookies. Noah must have worked so hard on them and on a drawing that is now hanging above my kitchen desk. Lainey had so much fun "eating" her Be Mine cookie; she was covered in red icing afterwards... small price to pay for the most adorable pictures ever! After hearing the UPS truck all day the driver finally brought me my bread machine this afternoon! We're currently running it through an empty cycle so we can start baking some bread.
