Garden day

We're starting a family garden down at my parents' house. Today Da and I put in the irrigation while Justin installed the new stereo in Da's truck. Lainey supervised the work. This evening we had a great dinner with Sam, Sarah, and Glenn Bo. After such a long day of hard work and fun, we're all exhausted.

¡¡¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo!!!

Today while Daddy was at work, Lainey and I had a swim date with the girls from our play group. Lainey is such a water baby! She loves swimming already. She isn't scared of swimming under water either. After swimming, we met up with Daddy at Fiesta Azteca... just like a million other people decided to do tonight. After much deliberation, we all decided to postpone Cinco de Mayo until Seis de Mayo and eat at a Japanese steak house instead. This was a great decision as the girls were entertained throughout dinner. We said good night to our friends and our little family walked around the Avenues for a while before getting ice cream and eventually heading home. All in all, a great day!

Tuesday was Lainey's 1 year visit with Dr. Weare. She is almost back on the growth chart, weighing in at 16lbs and 12 oz. Can you believe she actually measured 30 inches?!

There's that face again!

Today Lainey actually stood up in the middle of the room, and took about 4 steps towards me. I think she would have walked further, but my reaction (yaying combined with lots of bouncing and clapping) to her walking made her laugh so hard that she fell on the floor and rolled around for a couple of minutes! She also made a new friend at the gym today. They shared cheerios at snack time and I'm told that she grew quite upset when the caregivers moved him further away from her(Could have just been his banana flavored cheerios that she was missing though.) He's a red head too.
